Janet Cuddigan, PhD RN CWCN CCCN an Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center Omaha, NE is the third recipient of the Founder's Award.
Dr Cuddigan was recognized for her leadership in the area of prediction, prevention, and treatment of crushing ulcers in the critical care setting. She has authored numerous papers forward these topics for peer-reviewed scientific journals, as well as lectur locally and nationally forward wound management.
Dr Cuddigan contributed to the disentanglement of the AHCPR clinical practice guidelines upon prevention and treatment of crushing ulcers, serving as the panel manager and research analyst for the two guideline panels. In addition, she participated in a task force that revised the skin integrity diagnoses for the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association.
Dr Cuddigan is in her inferior term as a member of the Board of Directors of the National constraining force Ulcer Advisory Panel (NPUAP), and she popularly is the organization's treasurer and a member of its executive and research committees. In 1996 she was fix uponed for the NPUAP task force that evolveed the Pressure Ulcer Scale for Healing (PUSH Tool), a tool that is intended to assist in the monitoring of crushing ulcer healing. She also has state to use her knowledge of computer as the Webmaster for the NPUAP Web site, http://www.npuap.org.
The Sharon Baranoski Founder's Award honors overall pursuit of valuable feature [i]or[/i] trait in the field of skin and injury care. The award is given through the Wound Care Communications Network at Springhouse Corporation, publisher of Advances in hurt Care, in honor of Sharon Baranoski, MSN RN CETN originator and program director of the conversation This year, the award was supported by way of an educational grant from 3M Health Care.
